Battleground Washington Skatepark

Pablo and I have been to all of the new skateparks in the Portland area, and I’d have to say the Battelground is my favorite of the newest batch of concrete goodies. It’s huge, smooth, and creative. The bowl area(s) are super-fun for us old guys, and the kids dig the big ‘ol street area. It’s not unusual to look over at the street area and see like 20 guys skating at the same time.

Here’s a few locals hitting the ledges and trickin down the stairs in Battleground.

Of course I prefer the bowls and transitions. What a cool collection of hips and pockets! And that squashed cradle thing is just gnarly. I’ve seen Paul get upside down in there, and even some bikers hitting the flat spot at the top. The deep end is just that - deep. About 11 feet all the way around, and some of the locals are ridin it like a mini ramp. Tricks on every wall.
