Florence Construction Video
Welcome to the Thunderdome
Another blast from the past as I dig through my box of un-edited skate footage.
This time it’s a peak at the construction of Airspeed’s Florence park. Lots of sand, re-bar, and shotcrete. Music by Pepe and the Bottle Blondes.

I always did like that still picture you used for the Florence construction video. Did I tell you that Randi and I got invited to a backyard half-pipe with lights and tarps near Newberg that last time she was up?
It was a pretty freaking sweet set-up. Something like 25-feet long, 2-feet wide, mostly 4-feet high with one side having two extensions to like 6-feet on both ends and the other side having one 6-foot extension to over-vert with pool copping.
I only took a few runs and was argubly drunk, but did some 50-50 set-ups and went after the over-vert. I got a bit of a grind, but couldn’t keep the board under me.
I went and bought some softer wheels a few days later.
I also went back to my SPF wheels this week for two hours at Newberg on Tuesday. They are noticeably faster than those Del Mar wheels.
Peace out!

I actually just watched the video for the first time… very good. Thanks for the photo credit! That will make a good piece to mix-up the skating in your “still-up-coming” DVD release!

yeah. Cool. I like the part where they are spraying ‘crete and you are walking away in the background cheering. hehe I was psyched to be able to watch ‘em work that day – and in Toledo.
The DVD is about half finished. I am making the transitions between all of the videos. Gonna be pretty cool.
That reminsd me – When I get the DVD almost done we should all get together and we could record a Director’s Commentary for it. Just talk about what we were doing or whjat road trip we were on. Wadda ya think?
