Mega 4
The tour continues! Check out the fourth leg of our video tour of Oregon’s concrete parks. This time we head down south to visit Grant’s Pass, Medford, and Ashland. Mostly pictures in this one - I didn’t have my video camera when Paul and I visited these spots. A fun mix with music by Zap Mama. Stay tuned for Part 5 in a few weeks!

Great job once again. I gotta ask how do you do that with the photos! (one photo with all the different positions to zoom into. That’s so cool.) Drop me an email with a mailing address and I’ll send you a copy of our “Sessions & Roadtrips 2005.” No special effects, but a fun skate video. Keep up the great work and keep skating!

Thanks, Tony.
The zooming trick is actually pretty simple. I make a hi resolution, panoramic photo of the park. basically just by taking like 8 or ten shots of the park from one spot then ’stitching’ them together with some special software. I use Panorama Maker from Arcsoft. http://www.arcsoft.com/products/panoramamaker/
Then I take that photo into my video editing software - Sony’s Video Vegas. In there I can animate a virtual camera that can zoom in and out, crop the image, etc. It’s easier to do than to explain. hehe You’ve probably seen the Dog-Town and Z-boys movie. They do a lot of the same things with the photos - zooming and panning to add some action to the still images.
I’d love to check out your Sessions & Roadtips vid! I’ll send my address to ya. Maybe we can share some of the clips with the rest of the Wall of Gray visitors?

Thanks for the tips! I might have to figit a way to do that without the extra software - as I have no video budget… if I only I could afford a complete mac video workstation… *sigh* Don’t forget to get me a mailing address! Concretins@yahoo.com

I thought that maybe I could find some free software that Stitches images together to make those panoramas…but I cannot find one. There are several programs that have a free trial version, though.
This AutoStitch - http://www.cs.ubc.ca/~mbrown/autostitch/autostitch.html - is retty slick - does almost all of the work for you. Includes a free trial version.
Here’s a list of most of the programs that will stitch together panos… http://graphicssoft.about.com/od/panorama/
