No News is Good News?

Sorry about the lack of updates for the last couple of weeks. I have been busy with other projects – inclusing much goofing around in a game/world called Second Life. The geekier amongst you might want to give it a look-see. It’s a cool 3D, interactive world where everything is made by another player. The clothes, the buildings, the art, the games – everything. The coolest geek playground ever. Plus you can play for free.

On the skateboarding side: I am almost done with part 3 of the Mega Mix Tour. Bethel, Reeedsport, Port Orford and Brookings. Pablito: I miss skating with you man! I would have never made it to so many parks if not for your motivation to GO!

Also – I hear that Aaron has messed up his knee after one of his monster airs. I hope he is OK and that he can come back as quickly as Paul after the broken ankle.

Here’s a pic I got from a Florence Local – John Grantham. Killin the over-vert side of the Donut! Sorry it took me so long to post this, John. I will get it on the Airspeed site, too.

Sweet got the Pic on the Site. I really like this photo and am glad that you posted it on there for me Thanks

Super Sweet!!! What a photo of John! I still have never actually scene anyone doing that side of the doughnut in person. I will do the other side this year!

Don…thanks for the shout-out! I iwsh I could say that I’ve been to a dozen parks already this year, but January was the fourth-wettest on record for Portland. I’ve only skated The Department once and skated to work a couple of times. The new sidewalk down Interstate Ave is pretty ripping on softer wheels.

I am still going to try and get a ride to LC as soon as I can. Then… I also want to go see their other new park in my old town of Madras. But, besides those two, I am most excited about the Pier Park re-do!!! 20-foot full pipe! With and 11.5 pool deep-end!!! I bought a new Vans backpack that I can put all my pads in and strap even one of my bigger boards on. Pier is like a 15-minute bike ride away.

Kurt and I skated to tacos the other day… even he says he’ll give the shallow bowl a try this summer. I’m going to keep him to it!

    PEACE!

Another shout-out for Oregon… Chet Childress has a number of Oregon/Portland photos in the new issue of The Skateboard Mag. Lincoln City, Donald, McMinnville, downtown Portland and one sick one of him doing a wall ride from like a 12th floor office in downtown looking out on Puddletown. Get this issue for your history archieves!!!

  6. Pablito Says:

Damn Troy… your closser to that over-vert than you are Lincoln City…. That’s Florence you fool. Hitch a ride next dry day (I know it may be a while!)! Don and Randi are in Yachats…. make them go… they need someone to push them out the door and down the roll-in!

  7. Don Says:

Hehe. Yachats in the Hizzle! :)

I should be able to come up there soon, Paul. finally got a some cash in my wallet. If it looks like the weather is going to clear up i will call you for a quick dash to Newberg or LC. Yeah – we gotta get Kurt to carve a bowl this Summer!

Sure Ron, I;ll put a link to your site on my Links page next time I update the site…

  8. Pablito Says:

Don… something to think about…. Mix Master Mike in Portland on March 4th at The Greek.. same place I saw Z-Trip last!

  9. Don Says:

shoot. I have to work that night. figures. I have a more regualr schedule at the Drift again. Ack. MixMaster Mike is so sick he communicates with Aliens via turtable!

I stopped by Florence the other day to look at the park – it was raining. It looks like the city has actually been busy fixing up the landscaping. There is some grass and netting and the one gap on the deep end side has been coverd over with a cement wall. That should all help keep the sand out.

Now, if this rain would stop again…
