Last time I posted about what my friends at Airspeed are up to - so here’s an update on some more Oregon Skatepark News:

  • Dreamland Skateparks is always working on some lovely new concrete creation. This summer they finished the "World’s Largest Cradle", and Kuna, and maybe some day they’ll get to build the Monster Park. :)
  • PDX Skaters Benefit: Help the Skaters for Portland Skateparks raise money for the Pier Park Skatepark.
    • Residents are invited to support local skateboarding advocates at a series of film and raffle events this month. Skaters for Portland Skateparks, a nonprofit advocacy group, is hosting the fundraiser to rebuild Pier Park Skatepark with new lighting and a cover. The goal is to raise about $100,000, said Sarah Burgess, a spokeswoman for the group.  At 6:30 p.m. Nov. 17th, the film will be “Out There,” a street-skating video by Santa Cruz Skateboards, at the St. Johns Theatre, 8704 N. Lombard St. It is an all-ages event.
  • Tigard Oregon has a Skatepark Task Force working on a new skatepark in their town.
  • Looks like Skateboarding is still a crime - at least in Eugene.
  • Grindline may be building a skatepark in Yakima, WA, and they just finished one in San Angelo, Texas. Looks like they have a lot of other projects going, too.
  • The weather report looks pretty damn good this week, too. Damn, what am I doing inside posting this? I’m gonna go skate! L8R.
