flexible, full-body padding

Stumbled on this odd bit of video about a new flexible material that turns hard when force is applied. It looks like you could maybe make some ove-the-knee skate shorts with this D3O stuff that would act like a set of knee pads when you fall. Or maybe a stylin’ hat/helmet like the guy in this video. Maybe more kids would wear pads if you couldn’t tell they were wearing em?

Actually it looks people are already using this stuff.
